Wrexham Two miles south of Wrexham, Erddig offers not only the house, but also the working range of outbuildings that supported the house. These well constructed outbuildings includes as well as the kitchen, a bakery, laundry for the house and the stables, joiner's shop, sawmill,and smithy for the estate. And outside the traditional walled garden has been restored to its 18th-century formal design, complete with a Victorian parterre and yew walk. And beyond the walled garden is parkland with woodland walks.Two miles east of Chirk, this massive Norman castle was completed in 1310 by Roger Mortimer. Since 1595 it has been the home of the Myddleton family. There are elegant state rooms to visit inside, with elaborate plasterwork and superb Adam-style furniture.
